Spectrum Eating Disorder Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

The IOP offers a continuity of care for adult patients, 18 and older, who are transitioning from a higher level of care, as well as adult patients who could benefit from the regular, intense group programming in a non-residential environment.

IOP is group therapy designed to help you understand the development of your eating disorder, as well as challenge the thoughts and behaviors that maintain your eating disorder. The eight-week doctor lead program is structured as follows (module order subject to change):

  1. Eating Disorder Development/Maintenance
  2. Body Image
  3. Core Values
  4. Perfectionism
  5. Emotional Regulation
  6. Media Literacy
  7. Relaxation
  8. Self-esteem

IOP meets for three hours on three mornings per week for eight weeks and will run from 9:00 AM to noon Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

The daily IOP schedule is as follows:

  • 9:00-9:30 AM Check-in/Updates
  • 9:30-10:45 AM Topic/Skills
  • 10:45-11:30 Therapeutic Lunch
  • 11:30-12:00 Process/Wrap-up

Group psychotherapy will be led by our Clinical Director, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, and Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS), Dr. Monika Peterson. Dietitian Brina Jergenson, RD, will serve as Director of Nutrition Services.

Please note that all patients are required to have medical clearance to participate in the program.

At this time, the program is taking BCBS insurance and private pay rates only.
