John Jaksich, LAC, MBA
Licensed Associate Counselor

During his previous business career, John obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Iowa and graduated Magna Cum Laude from his MBA program at Northwestern University.
John has worked extensively in investment management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate development, and private equity. John’s professional career includes tenures with Fortune 500 companies, including ABN Amro, Citi, and Exelon. Additionally, John has worked in several entrepreneurial enterprises in both operational and consultative roles. Over the entirety of John’s career, he has consulted with hundreds of privately held, mid-sized businesses and worked closely with a similar number of senior executives and entrepreneurs. John has also recruited, trained, and mentored dozens of high-potential individuals.
During this time, John’s quest for personal growth and the desire to enable similar growth in others motivated him to become a certified Yoga Instructor (CYT) and Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT). Most notably, John graduated Magna Sum Laude from Ottawa Univerity with his MA in Professional Counseling.
John began his career in psychology at Calvary Center (a subsidiary of UHS), where he leveraged a successful internship into a program director position. John successfully revamped and managed a previously failing partial hospitalization program during his tenure. He was responsible for all operational aspects of the program and served as the lead therapist. John’s clinical focus included group, individual, and family therapy. Following this experience, John founded and ran a national executive/life coaching practice. He worked with high-potential / high-performing adults and young adults to help them improve and expand their personal and professional lives.
In John’s current work, he utilizes a holistic treatment model that addresses the entire person: mind, body, and spirit. He believes that to be our best and to implement lasting positive changes in our lives, we need to fully integrate the emotional child, the intellectual adult, the physical body, and the spirit guide (soul). John believes everyone is capable of and entitled to a life of happiness, love, peace, and fulfillment. He utilizes an integrative approach that includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), other mindfulness-based modalities, empathetic listening, and spirituality.
John works with adults suffering from acute mental/behavioral health conditions or simply seeking to make positive life changes. He has over ten years of experience counseling adults, couples, and families in relationships, trauma, grief, addiction, stress, life balance, and general mental health. Particular areas of expertise include work with couples and high-performing / high-potential adults.
John treats all mental health disorders, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, addiction, and adjustment disorder. He also coaches in the areas of career, education, life balance, personal growth, and self-realization.
John is the father of two young adult daughters, an activist for various environmental and human rights causes, and an active member of his faith community.
