Jania Davis, PMHNP-BC

Board-Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Dr. Jania Davis, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy across the lifespan.

With nearly two decades of experience in behavioral health, Dr. Davis has worked across inpatient, outpatient, community, and leadership settings. Her clinical practice has a particular focus on children, adolescents, and young adults ages 3–25, as well as older adults and geriatric psychiatry, and she welcomes patients of all ages.

Her approach to psychiatric care is intentionally therapy-informed. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms and medication, Dr. Davis works to understand the person behind the diagnosis, including development, family relationships, environment, identity, strengths, stressors, and the experiences shaping how someone functions in everyday life. Medication, when appropriate, is treated as one part of a broader treatment plan.

Dr. Davis has extensive experience evaluating and treating ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, trauma-related conditions, behavioral and emotional dysregulation, and complex psychiatric presentations. Her background in child and adolescent psychiatry has also shaped a collaborative approach that frequently includes parents, caregivers, schools, therapists, and other members of a patient’s treatment team when appropriate.

At the other end of the lifespan, her early career experience in memory care and geriatric psychiatry gives her a particular appreciation for the psychiatric, cognitive, medical, and family considerations involved in caring for older adults.

Dr. Davis provides both medication management and psychotherapy, with an emphasis on education and helping patients understand not only what they are experiencing, but why it may be happening and what they can do about it.

She welcomes patients across the lifespan, whether they are navigating childhood and adolescence, the transitions of young adulthood, the demands of adulthood, or the complexities of aging.

Clinical note: Dr. Davis has limited specialized training in substance use disorder treatment and does not provide buprenorphine/Suboxone treatment. Patients requiring specialized SUD services may be referred to or collaboratively managed with an appropriate substance use treatment provider.
